Continuing north to Stockholm, marvel at the artistic beauty of the city’s metro stations, where over 150 artists have transformed the underground into a vast public art gallery. Each station offers a different creative vision, making every journey an experience in itself.

A visit to the Nynäshamn Railway Museum offers further insight into Sweden’s railway past, before indulging in a truly magical experience—an evening steamboat dinner cruise through the stunning Stockholm Archipelago, where you can relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery.

Travel Tips
- Consider visiting Southern Sweden between June and August. This is when the weather is at its most pleasant, with longer daylight hours and milder temperatures, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and enjoy the vast forests and tranquil lakes.
- The fastest way to get there is to fly but it is possible to make the journey from London to Stockholm in a day. Perhaps more preferable, you can easily travel by train through Germany and break up your journey with an overnight stay in Hamburg, travelling on to Copenhagen the following day.
- From Copenhagen you have the opportunity to cross the iconic Öresund Bridge which connects Denmark and Sweden as you journey to Malmo.
- Malmo is an eclectic fusion of old and new and well worth an overnight stay on route to Stockholm. From the futuristic Turning Torso to the Gothic splendour of the city’s oldest building, St Peter's Church.
- It is a scenic train journey to Stockholm. Be sure to take a free guided tour of Stockholm’s metro stations and marvel at the spectacular architecture coupled with artworks from over 150 artists. It is often referred to as the world’s longest art exhibit.
- Whilst in Stockholm spend a day at the Skansen Open-Air Museum , the oldest in the world, it showcases 5 Centuries of Swedish history. Also on the site is a zoo and funicular railway that climbs Skansen Mountain.
- Near to Stockholm is the historic town of Mariefred which can be reached in part by steam train. From there it is possible to sail back to Stockholm by steamboat.
- For a wonderful end to your trip take an evening boat cruise including dinner aboard through the Stockholm Archipelago.
- The currency used is Swedish Krona (You will need a credit or debit card - there's no need to exchange a lot of currency as many cities are cash-free).
- Everyone speaks English!
